ABOUT THE BLAQUE ORCHID
@shopTheBlaqueOrchid
I was born as Eon and raised in Mid City. (Los Angeles, California) My mother was a cultured and sophisticated fashion forward career woman, a book lover who took me to every reggae and jazz festival she could. My grandmother was from Detroit born to Jamaican parents - classy lady, loved and created beautiful things, a Johnny Walker drinker with a tough heart. My aunt played dominoes like a champ, listened to Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin and had show-stopping legs. The only father I knew, was super cool, stayed fresh and very well dressed. He initiated me into Santeria when I was 10 years old. These are the people who raised and molded me to be the gangsta, Orisha loving Africana that I am. Allow me to present to you curations reflecting my unapologetic cultured lifestyle.
From LA to the A, I’m excited to share with you a long-awaited vision. Since junior high school, I’ve been pencil sketching a brick and mortar store filled with beautiful clothes and jewelry. I began my fashion and retail journey in 1995 and have stayed the course because I love the excitement shown on the faces of women who I’ve helped find that perfect outfit for their perfect silhouette. Today, The Blaque Orchid is an online store. Each day fuels the dream to be the reality of physical boutiques in Atlanta and Los Angeles to serve not just shoppers but also donating wardrobes to women in need. Thank you for your continuous support and interest as I navigate through this life as a single mother of three all while extending a hand to my sistrens in need worldwide.
Thank you for gracing my website with your love-energy. We at The Blaque Orchid desire only the best for you.
